This is a writing task from Sue Hill at Youth's Benefit Elementary School.

Marvin the Martian has just landed at Youth's Benefit Elementary School from Planet Necktar. His mission is to report back to his commander about planet earth. Out of curiosity, Marvin the Martian entered the large room in the school called the gymnasium. He observed many students having fun and participating in physical activities. Marvin the Martian did not understand what the students were doing because they do not have Physical Education on planet Necktar.

Think about helping Marvin understand:

• How would you define Physical Education?
• What specific activities do you participate in during Physical Education?
• What benefits do these activities have on your health?
• Why is physical education important?
