Our Vision is: "Our vision is that of a community-based school where the students, staff, parents, and community work together in a collegial manner to foster an excitement for learning."

Welcome to Jarrettsville Elementary School. We have been recognized as a Maryland School of Excellence. We were also the first school in Maryland to participate in the SAREX (Shuttle Amateur Radio EXperiment) project sponsored by NASA where our students spoke to the orbiting astronauts. In addition, we were the first school in Maryland recognized by the Maryland State Legislature as Smoke-Free.

Belief System

6. We believe that instruction should be flexible and inclusive based on the best available research and the needs of the student.
7. We believe that instruction must include higher levels of cognitive activities so that the student can become a lifelong, self-directed learner.
8. We believe that desired student outcomes can best be achieved through supportive interaction among home, school, and community.
